Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of SignalDesk (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

SignalDesk collects email newsletters from a Gmail account you choose to connect, along with blog posts and podcast episodes from feeds you subscribe to, and presents them in a single reading inbox with AI-generated summaries. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us at dpstr39@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization.

Connecting a Gmail account is optional and entirely under your control. When you connect one, you grant the Service read-only access to that mailbox for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. You may disconnect the mailbox in Settings, or revoke access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions, at any time. You must only connect accounts you are authorized to access.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to access any mailbox or account you do not own or have permission to use.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' data, or the systems it runs on.
• Use the Service to infringe copyright, redistribute paid subscription content, or otherwise violate the rights of a content publisher.
• Interfere with or overload the Service, or circumvent rate limits and access controls.
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or of the terms of any third-party service it connects to, including Google's.

Newsletters, articles, podcast episodes, and transcripts collected by the Service remain the property of their respective authors and publishers. The Service stores copies of that content solely to display it back to you, the recipient or subscriber, for your personal reading. It grants you no rights in that content, and you are responsible for complying with the terms of any publication you subscribe to.

Summaries, transcripts, and other AI-generated output are produced automatically and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading. They are not a substitute for reading the source material, and must not be relied on as professional, financial, legal, or medical advice. Always check the original before acting on anything a summary says.

The Service depends on third parties including Google, Vercel, Supabase, Anthropic, and the publishers of the feeds you subscribe to. It may break, degrade, or lose access to content if those services change, fail, or revoke access. We are not responsible for third-party services or their content.

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we do not guarantee that ingestion will run on any particular schedule or that data will be preserved indefinitely. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS OR USD $50.

You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required to protect the Service or comply with law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Last updated” date above will reflect them. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
